畢樂卡·斯丹露絲(Pirkko Stenros，1928一)這位女設(shè)計大師，在現(xiàn)代家具?設(shè)計史中占據(jù)著無法替代的地位，她最早從事模數(shù)制板式家具設(shè)計，也是最重要的兒童系列家具的創(chuàng)始者之一。她的設(shè)計哲學(xué)是非常獨特的，同時，在其漫長的設(shè)計生涯中，她主持了上百項公共建筑的室內(nèi)設(shè)計和家具系列設(shè)計。

      斯丹露絲1951年畢業(yè)于赫爾辛基藝術(shù)設(shè)計大學(xué)室內(nèi)與家具設(shè)計系。她的第一件作品就是她的畢業(yè)創(chuàng)作：兒童系列家具。她的設(shè)計特別強調(diào)對兒童創(chuàng)造性的啟發(fā)，并能適合于兒童的成長，即同一套家具能適用于不同年齡段的兒童。她同時非常注意兒童家具的美感設(shè)計，以及對兒童的早期綜合教育起到積極作用。最關(guān)鍵的是，她的設(shè)計注重使用上的方便和清潔，因為戰(zhàn)后的芬蘭女性大都參加工作，很難花上更多的時間料理家務(wù)。斯丹露絲的兒童家具早已成為20世紀(jì)家具的經(jīng)典，對以后的同類家具產(chǎn)生了廣泛的指導(dǎo)性影響。

     斯丹露絲對現(xiàn)代家具設(shè)計的另一貢獻就是對現(xiàn)代模數(shù)制家具的研究開發(fā)。她的設(shè)計適用于各種不同的場合，尤其深受家庭的喜愛。對于家用模數(shù)制板式家具，斯丹露絲的出發(fā)點是床的設(shè)計，用她的話來說，芬蘭人多年來已經(jīng)被席夢絲睡壞了腰，因此需要適意的床以獲得健康的睡眠。她早年設(shè)計的大多數(shù)系列產(chǎn)品至今仍在生產(chǎn)中。穆拉密家具公司(Muurame)是專門生產(chǎn)斯丹露絲作品的一家企業(yè)，其產(chǎn)品全部用芬蘭樺木做原料。

      斯丹露絲是非常典型的精益求精的大師，這一點同阿爾托類似，即在幾種主要設(shè)計手法基礎(chǔ)上不斷派生出適合不同場合的家具系列產(chǎn)品。斯丹露絲在50多年設(shè)計生涯中多次獲獎，同時也多年在母校擔(dān)任教學(xué)工作，是芬蘭設(shè)計領(lǐng)域最重要的教授之一。

          Interior architect Pirkko Stenros (born 1928) has designed streamlined furniture of a distinctly Finnish appearance for over 40 years and is known for her work with furniture marketed under the Muurame brand. Stenros has gained distinction in developing the visual environment of the home, and she has carried out restorations of churches in addition to designing jewellery and interiors for public spaces. 

         Having begun in the 1950s with a furniture collection for children, Stenros's determined approach has expanded to furniture for adults, storage furniture for homes and public spaces and collections of tables and chairs. Pirkko Stenros has designed whole families of furniture, maintaining a minimized and timeless spirit independent of fashion trends.

         Furniture by Stenros has undergone renewal in a contemporary spirit and in accordance with present-day requirements, for example with the growing need of furniture for personal computers. At the same, however, all the items can be seamlessly combined with the older models. 

          Pirkko Stenros received the State Design Prize in 1969, the Export Prize of the President of Finland in 1987 and the IKEA Prize in 1995. She has participated in the Classic Makers exhibition at Design Forum in 1995 and the Finnish Design 125 Years exhibition in 2000.
